“Streamers Don’t Build Relationships”: xQc Opens up About Adin Ross & Mizkif

In a recent Kick stream, xQc opened up about his relationship with Adin Ross and other streaming companions. xQc, who has been known to collaborate with a number of streamers from time to time, talked about how odd friendships in the streaming world can be, as usually you have to choose between content and actually being friends.

When talking about his association with Adin Ross, xQc said they “don’t really hang out” but that he can “turn the switch on” to “clutch up” when streaming time comes around.

xQc then elaborated, stating:

“ I don’t really hang out with Adin. Me and Adin don’t hang out. When he wants me for a stream when he wants me for his thing, brother, I turn the switch on, and I clutch up. Okay? When he says, ‘Yo, Come on stream,’ I give my 100% and do the best I can so he can have a good stream. That’s it.”

He then went on about their personal relationship with each other, saying:

“Yeah, maybe he will call me here and there. But we don’t go to the beach or some s*it. We don’t go to the club or whatever the f*ck. If he wanted to go to the club, we could! But I’m just saying, I’m not going to act like, ‘Yo guys, he’s my best friend, but also, he’s my best streamer friend. I’m so blessed I have both in this guy.’ No!”

However, this wasn’t the first time xQc has talked about how shallow friendships really are in the streaming space, both for Kick and Twitch.

For example, when talking about Mizkif recently, he stated that he always had to choose between being a “full friend” or “full streamer” and that it’s too hard to do both at the moment.

The Difference Between Friends and Streaming “Friends”

It’s not just xQc talking about how shallow streamer relationships can be; there have been a number of streamers, including Ludwig and Jasontheween, who have echoed the sentiment on many occasions.

Ludwig in particular, has talked about his superficial relationship with content creators like MrBeast and xQc himself.

On stream, xQc said, “ You want to build a relationship with somebody, you need to spend time. Streamers don’t have time. Streamers don’t build relationships. That’s what it is.”

It makes sense, though, that if you’re always looking for content on stream, a real friendship will be hard to foster, and if you’re not talking off-stream, it’s nearly impossible.

However, xQc wasn’t acting like a sad sap with no friends; he said:

“ I do have real friends. But most of the things I do with them, and most of the interactions I have with them, you don’t know about them because that’s what makes it a real friendship. I don’t go and call them and say, ‘Hey man, how’s it going, dude? Just checking in, as I’m on stream for content, and I’m talking with you right now.”

There’s no need to feel bad for streamers by any means; they are multi-millionaires, but if you see a friendship develop on stream, things may not always be as they look.
